Who we are
Era Succession Law is a boutique wills and estates law firm based in Orange, New South Wales. We were founded by solicitor Jessica Spence and specialise in estate planning, wills, farm succession planning, probate, and estate disputes. We serve clients across Central West NSW, including Orange, Bathurst, Dubbo, Mudgee, and surrounding rural communities.

How we work
Stage 1
We listen
We start with an initial meeting focused on listening. We want to understand your circumstances, your concerns, and what you're hoping to achieve before we offer any advice.
Stage 2
We develop a plan
Once we understand what matters most to you, we develop a clear legal approach. We explain your options in plain language and work collaboratively with your other advisers, accountants, financial planners and your family, to make sure the plan is practical and complete.
Stage 3
We help you get it done
When you're comfortable with the approach, we implement it carefully. Whether that's finalising your estate plan, helping you apply for probate, handling estate assets or supporting your family through a succession transition, we guide you through each step and make sure everything is properly in place.
Jessica Spence - Principal Solicitor
I grew up in the Central West of New South Wales in a farming family. I moved to Orange in 2013 and have built my career and my life here.
That background shapes the way I practise law. I understand what it means to plan for the future of a farm, to navigate a family business transition, or to deal with a loved one's estate while grief is still fresh. I've seen what happens when these things are done well, and when they're not.
I'm highly experienced in wills and estates, including estate planning, probate and estate administration, complex estate issues, and estate disputes. I'm particularly passionate about farm succession and transition planning, helping farming families work through what comes next with honesty, care, and a plan that actually sticks.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Laws, University of New England (2017)
Bachelor of Agriculture, University of New England (2017)
Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, College of Law (2017)
Admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales (2018)
8+ years experience in Wills and Estate, with added exposure to corporate governance, estate litigation and commercial law
Currently undertaking a Master of Applied Law, specialising in Wills and Estates
Qualified and trained in Collaborative Practice
